Jean Evans  Pyatt, age 89, of Rutherfordton passed peacefully  Monday, November 24, 2025. Jean was a member of  First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton for over 50 years.  She was a native of McDowell County and widow of the late Jimmy Ray Pyatt.  Jean was also preceded in death by two sons; Larry Pyatt and Randy Pyatt. She is survived by One Son: Danny Lester Pyatt (Candy), two brothers; Ray Evans and Jerry Evans, a daughter-in-law Dalona Pyatt and fiancée of Randy, Sharon Carroll. Four Grandchildren; Lindsay Schultz (Steven), Breezie Pyatt (James Occhuizzo), Preston Pyatt (Victoria), Allison Pyatt (Ian Kuhnen). Six Great-Grandchildren: Grayson, Easton, Elias, Joe, Jackson and Henley. The Celebration of Life  service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 29, 2025 with Reverend Beth Heffner officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service.   Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church; 246 North Main Street; Rutherfordton, N C 28139.  Interment will be private.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements
