Jennie Lee Thompson, age 91, of Rutherfordton died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late Briscoe and Gladys Lovelace Philbeck. Jennie was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rutherfordton and was retired from the Rutherford County Clerk of Courts office. She was the widow of Robert C. Thompson. She is survived by One Son: Robert Bruce Thompson and wife Marcia of Advance, NC Grandson: Robert Tyler Thompson and wife Emma Great Grandson: Felix Eduardo Thompson Two Brothers: Wade Philbeck of Rutherfordton Edwin Philbeck of Ellenboro The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Friday, March 7, 2014 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 8, 2014 with Rev. Dr. Jack Knoespel officiating. A private burial will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
