Jimmy N. Guffey, age 85, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Friday, June 4, 2021, at Accordius Health at Rutherford.

He was the son of the late Clyde Guffey and the late Annabelle Ruff Guffey and a native of Rutherford County.  He was a U S Army veteran.  Jim was preceded in death by his wife Opal Lee Jones Guffey.  He was an active member of Second Baptist Church of Rutherfordton.  Jim had a great love for the outdoors and spent a lot of time hunting and fishing.  He was also preceded in death by his sisters Joan Walker and Patircia Pierson.

Two brothers: Calvin Guffey (Anne) Roger Guffey (Suzy) One sister Mary Lois Geer (David) Two Grandchildren: Brian Taylor (Amanda), Kayla King Burchette (Phillip) One Great-Grandchild:  Presley Jade Taylor

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday prior to the service in the church santcuary .  The Funeral service will be at Second Baptist of Rutherfordton at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 7, 2021 with Reverend Dr. Keith Stephenson and Reverend Brandon Wood officiating.  Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Carolina Foothills; P O Box 336; Forest City, NC 28043.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
