Joan Lattimore Thompson, age 81, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Friday, July 22, 2022, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.  Joan was a native of Rutherford County and daughter of the late Dan & Lula Lattimore.  She was a member of  Rock Springs Baptist Church and recently attended Southern Baptist Church.  Joan was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters; Johnny Lattimore, Lucy Spikes and Joyce Ruff.

She was survived by, one daughter, Donna Payne, one son, David  Payne, two brothers, Leonard Lattimore, and Larry Lattimore, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, July 25, 2022 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Rock Springs Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Joan will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
