Joe Letterman, age 78, of Forest City, NC, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. Joe was son of the late Milton & Hattie Bolick Letterman and native of Mitchell County. He was a U S Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked in construction for Flour Construction Company. Joe was known to the grand Kids as "Poppy". He is survived by his wife; Elizabeth "Libby" Letterman. Step-daughter: Donna Johnson and her husband Jay Three Sisters: Shirley Butner, Allene Lee, Margie Wilson Four Grandchildren: Kayleigh Wells, Joseph Wells, Morgan Johnson and Taylor Johnson. The Funeral service will be at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 11, 2018 with Reverend Roy Perry officiating. Interment will be at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, NC with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
