Joe A. Smith, age 84, of Bostic, died Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Hospice House of Rutherford County. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Charlie Smith and the late Lottie Bivens Smith. Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Grover, Fred and Bud Smith and four sisters; Ozelle Ensley, Oler Mae Murray, Annie Bell Swicegood and Elizabeth Cartee. He is survived by his wife: Marie Hall Smith. One Daughter: Jolene Smith Hefner and husband Bill of Bostic One Son: Keith Smith Two Grandchildren: Krystal Hefner and Lauren Hefner The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 1, 2017 with Chaplain Cy Miller officiating.
