John "Johnny" Edney Fox, age 60, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at Atrium Health Cleveland  in Shelby, NC.

A native of Mitchell County, NC Johnny was the son of the late Clyde Fox and the late Ernestine Carpenter. In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Owens Fox. Johnny loved fishing, NASCAR, and being outdoors as much as possible.

Johnny is survived by his daughter, Brittney V. Fox (Daniel) of Rutherfordton, seven siblings, Kenneth Fox (Sharon) of Bakersville, Debbie Whittington (Melvin) of Lenoir, Donna Fox (Cameron) of Rutherfordton, Kathy Pierce (Brian) of Rutherfordton, James Fox of Marion, Michael Carpenter (Kristen) of Union Mills, and Sarah Thomas of Rutherfordton, and four grandchildren, Sophia, Kristen, Malaya, and Ellie.

The family is going to have a private service at a later date in honor of Johnny. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
