John W. McGalliard, age 76, of Spindale, NC, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, at Oak Grove Healthcare Center.

A native of Burke County, NC, John was the son of the late Raymond McGalliard and Verna Engler McGalliard. John was a truck driver for many years. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia McGalliard, his second wife, Karen McGalliard, sisters, Avis Dellinger, and Shirley Campbell, and his step-son, Johnnie C. Morrow.

John is survived by his twin sister, Jean Smith, his wife, Linda G. McGalliard, step-daughters, Sherry Morrow McDaniel, Nikki J. Davis and her husband Jimmy, Amanda J. Craig and her husband Shannon sister Carol Causby and her husband Larry, his brother, Don McGalliard and his wife Dorothy mother-in-law; Connie Hatton, four grandchildren, John is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2024 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 12, 2024 at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Fitzsimmons officiating. Interment will be at Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Rutherfordton, NC. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
