John "Floyd"  Phillips, age 86, of Forest City, NC, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026, at his home.  Floyd was born August 7, 1939 and was a native of Rutherford County.  He was an avid golfer and had a passion for watching Western's. His greatest pleasure was enjoying his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his daughter, Felicia Hutchins, and several siblings.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Frances Phillips, his sons, Jonathan Phillips (Martha), and Scott Murray (Tracy), his brother, Buddy Phillips, three grandchildren, Jessie, Lauren (Seth), and Garen (Morgan), and five great-grandchildren, Shiloh, Ender, and Arwen Orr, and Creighton and Brewer Murray.
