Joseph "Joe" Condrey, age 75, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Accordius Health at Rutherford.

He was the son of the late Bruce and Gloria Hess Condrey and he was a native of Rutherford County. Joe served in the U.S. Army for 21 years and served his country well in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Army as a Master Sergeant. After his time in the military he went to Isothermal Community College and graduated with an associate degree and was a part of the Who's Who program. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by one niece, Robin Brown.

Joe is survived by his wife of 57  years, Carol Condrey, one daughter, Susan Angela Condrey, of Rutherfordton, one son, Joseph Walter Condrey, Jr., and wife April, of Rutherfordton, one brother, Bruce Wayne Condrey, and wife Ricki, of Sparta, TN, one sister, Susan  Condrey Radford and husband Chuck, of Union Mills, three grandchildren, Ashely Mignone, Paige Condrey, and Kayla Condrey, and three great-grandchildren, Wynter Smith, Phoenix Smith, and Aria Mignone, two nephews, Greg Radford, and Jason Condrey, one niece, Jessica Wells.

The family will receive friends from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 with Reverend Neil Perry officiating.  The family has requested that masks be worn at all services. Interment will be at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills; P.O.
