Joyce White Owens, age 89, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late Vassey White and the late Mattie Toms White and a native of Rutherford County. Joyce was the widow of the late Winfred Hoyle Owens. She was a member of West Memorial Baptist Church and she was a retired seamstress. She was also preceded in death by a sister Marylove Burgess.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Owens of Rutherfordton, one son, Steve Owens and his wife Gina of Rutherfordton, three grandchildren, Brandon Burgess, Josh Burgess, and Alexia Owens, and one great grandchild, Raegan Burgess.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, April 12, 2025 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 12 Noon at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Snelgrove and Reverend Mike Deese officiating. Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or a charity of your choice. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
