Judy McSwain Baker, age 78, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC.

She was the daughter of the late Ed McSwain and the late Dora McSwain, and she was a native of Spartanburg County.  Judy was widow of John W. Baker.  She worked in textiles for 27 years at Stonecutter.

She is survived by, one daughter, Janice Yelton (Cleveland), two sons, Johnny Baker (Jill), and Joey Baker (Kylie), one sister, Bonnie Owens, one brother, Will McSwain, eight grandchildren, Jordan Baker, Amanda Yelton, Jacob Baker, Haydyn Baker, Austin Yelton, Jameson Baker, Brystal Baker, and Brayam Baker, and three great-grandchildren, Jaidyn Bracebridge, Marcus Bracebridge, and Baker Cole.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, prior to the service at the Green River Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at the church at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 29, 2023, with Reverend Gary Curtis officiating.  Interment will be at Green River Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Joey & Kylie Baker.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
