Julia L. Keever, age 85, of Rutherfordton, NC went to her Heavenly Home and was greeted by her husband George on his birthday, Monday, May 20, 2024, at her home in the care of hospice.

A native of Rutherford County, Julia was the daughter of the late Claude and Ruth Lancaster. She was a registered nurse for many years at the hospital as well as other places. Julia was a member of Gray's Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, George "Pop" Franklin Keever, Julia is also preceded in death by two daughters, Angela Keever, and Susan Blackwelder.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Gary Keever (Michele), and Tracy Keever (Lisa), two sisters, Jean Wilson, and Betty Gilbert, one brother, Bruce Lancaster, six grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.

The graveside service will be at Gray's Creek Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 23, 2024, with Reverend Bryan Ezell officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Interment will follow the graveside service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
