Laura Katherine Heyda, age 47, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away.

Laura was a native of Aiken County, SC. She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Edward Thomas and her step-father Dr. William C. Haden Jr.

Laura is survived by, one daughter, Sara Heyda, her mother, Susan Haden, three sisters, Carrie Strickland, Virginia Haden, and Rachael Thomas, four brothers, Adam Thomas, Will Haden, Michael Haden, and Terry Thomas, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There will be a private family only service at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1133 Rutherfordton, NC 28139. McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
