Lena Mae Hudgins

Lena Mae Hudgins, age 93, of Rutherfordton, NC, went to be with the Lord Friday, June 5, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Joe and Mary Arrowood Brown, and she was a native of Rutherford County. Lena was a member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. She was a loving mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents Lena was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Gosnell and one granddaughter Tabitha Hudgins. Lena was married to the late Reverend William Wesley Hudgins for 69 years who died in 2022.

Lena is survived by, five sons, Ronnie Wesley Hudgins and his wife Jennie, Benny Joel Hudgins, William Terry Hudgins and his wife Christie, Gary Dale Hudgins and his wife Tracy, and William Wesley Hudgins Jr., one daughter, Debbie Marie Lowery, one sister, Hattie Edwards and two brothers Reverend Leon Brown and Arnold Brown. Seven grandchildren, Eight great-grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and three great-grandkids that Wesley and Lena raised, Tyler Colt Morrow, Eric Dean Morrow, and Taylor Keith Lowery.

The family will receive friends 2:00PM to 3:00PM Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. The funeral service will be at 3:00PM Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Chad Sisk, Reverend Leon Brown, and Reverend Buddy Campbell officiating. Interment will be private at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church; 301 Deviney St. Spindale, NC 28160.
