Leonard Lee McEntire, age 84, of Rutherfordton, NC, peacefully went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 28, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in Rutherford County, Leonard was the son of the late Lee McEntire and the late Rosa Lee Hardin McEntire. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Raymond McEntire, Jesse McEntire, Reuben McEntire, Ronelle Tuttle, and Annie Arrowood.

Leonard enjoyed gardening, cutting grass, watching westerns, and fishing. He was an accomplished trap shooter, having won numerous trophies and awards, and participated in skeet shooting. Known for his quick wit, Leonard was a fun-loving husband, father, and Paw Paw. His family will forever cherish his memory.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patsy McEntire, their children,

Randy McEntire and his wife Susan, Susan Byers and her husband Terry, Bruce McEntire and his wife Angie, and Gary McEntire and his wife Lori, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren with one on the way.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2026, at McMahan's Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park at 2:30 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2026, with Reverend Chris Glawson officiating. Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
