Loretta Fowler Dalton, age 88, of Forest City, NC, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, surrounded by her family.

A native of Rutherford County, Loretta was the daughter of the late John Fowler and the late Corrine Fowler. Loretta was a member of Henrietta First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Dalton, a number of siblings, her daughter, Shirley Dalton Tate, and one of her sons, Wayne Dalton.

Loretta is survived by her sons, Ronnie Dalton and his wife Shelly of Anchorage, AK, Scott Dalton and his wife Myra, Forest City, NC, and Chad Dalton and his wife Ashley of Johns Island, SC, her sister, Brenda Toney and her husband Marvin, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and her special friends and caregivers, Barbara Burgess, Paige Robbins, and Dorlene Robbins.

The graveside service will be at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery at 3:30 PM, Thursday, January 22, 2026. There will be no formal visitation. Memorials may be made to Henrietta First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 265 Henrietta, NC 28076. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
