On October 22, 2025, Lucas Kevin Cole went home to be with his Heavenly Father after battling addiction for 13 years.  He was a member of Kistler's Chapel Methodist Church and a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School class of 2013.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents Breece and Opal Cole.  His family would like to thank the following organizations and people for their dedication and love for Lucas:  Miracle Hill of Greenville, SC, Rebound of Charlotte, NC, The "Lee Power Scholarship" of Isothermal Community College, Jonathon Carver, Aaron Watts (United Way),  Arnold and Beth Farlow,  Christie and Seth Cole,  Paul and Isacc Nelon, Ridge Wilkerson, Brian Smith and Sgt. Ryan Bailey with Rutherford County Sheriffs Department, Forest City Post  Office and last but not least Jackie and Jack of Mauldin Towing Service.

Lucas was an exceptional son, bother, uncle, nephew, friend and cousin.  His sense of humor, love for sports, hunting and animals was like no other.  Lucas enjoyed spending time with his parents, Kim and Kevin Cole, his brother Ethan Cole and wife Sarah along with his nephews Avery and Jacob Cole.  Lucas was loved by his grandparents, Opal Cole, Billy Joe Davis and Betty Davis. Lucas was loved deeply and will be missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to take this opportunity to express that addiction is a disease and help available to addicts and their families.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 26, 2025 at McMahan's Funeral Home from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. to celebrate Lucas.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rutherford Adult Care; 859 Thunder Road; Rutherfordton, NC 28139.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
