Lucy Mae Hopper Johnson, age 90, of Rutherfordton, died Monday, October 29, 2018, at her residence in Rutherfordton. Lucy was a native of Rutherford County and a member of Southern Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Clater Guffey and the late Cora Willis Guffey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Charles William Hopper and her second husband Graham Louis Johnson, one daughter Karen Hopper; two stepsons, Randy Johnson and Perry Johnson; two brothers, C.B. Guffey and Jack Guffey. She is also survived by One Daughter: Teresa H. Flack and her husband Mike of High Point One Son: Charlie Hopper and his wife Lhen of Rutherfordton One Stepson: Richard Johnson and his wife Nona of Rutherfordton One Sister: Linda Bryson of Boiling Springs, NC Nine grandchildren Six great-grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her caregiver, Elaine Frashier, for her loving care and friendship. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, November 2, 2018 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The memorial service will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 2, 2018 at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Flack officiating. Interment of the urn will be at Southern Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
