Margaret Wray McMahan, age 97, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Trinity Village in Hickory, NC. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Beaty Wray and the late Bonnie Wray. She was native of Vale, NC and widow of the late Clayton McMahan. Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton where she taught Sunday School for many years and was involved with the ladies circle group. She was retired from the Rutherford County School system as former Elementary School teacher and co-owner of McMahan's Funeral Home Inc. Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers Arthur Beaty Wray Jr. and James Wray. She is survived by her Sister Eunice Wray Mauney. One niece: Denise Wray Layton Four great-nieces: Jamie Wray, Heather Layton Sherman, Jordan Layton Robinson, Kim Jerome The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, prior to the service at McMahan's. The Funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 24, 2014 with Rev. Tim Marsh and Rev. Dean Baughn officiating.
