Margrette Vance Guffey, age 80, of Union Mills, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late James Vance and tEffie  Vance. In addition tio her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Margrette was a native of Rutherford county. She was a member of the former Centennial Methodist Church.

Survivors include: One Daughter: Lisa Duncan and her husband Dwayne

One Son: Greg Guffey and his wife Kim

Two Sisters: Juanita Roach Nellie Gilland

Four Grandchildren: Jessica Abernathy and her husband Brandon, Aaron James Guffey, Caden Andrei Duncan, Claire Alexandra Duncan

One Great-grandson: Greyson Abernathy

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the former Centennial Methodist Church. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the former Centennial Methodist Church with Reverend Chad Roach and Reverend Scott Moneyham officiating. Interment will be at Centennial Methodist Church Cemetery, Union Mills, NC. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
