Marie Holler Freeman, age 88, of Forest City, NC formerly of Spindale, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living.

A native of Rutherford County Marie was the daughter of the late Frank and Ila Holler. Marie was a member at Second Baptist Church of Rutherfordton, and she retired from Mastercraft after working there many years. Marie absolutely loved listening to Gospel Music and tending to her flowers. Marie had so much love for her three granddaughters, she will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Glenda Marie Freeman, her daughter, Sharon Freeman Greene, her husband, Bobby Freeman, and her two sisters, Eulene Ferguson, and Virginia Warlick.

Marie is survived by her three granddaughters, Sheena Atchley (Dustin), Misty Greene (Quincy), and Kristen Whitesides (Desmond), seven great-grandchildren, Corbin Reeves, Aiden Atchley, Mason Atchley, Blaine Pruett, Aubrey Whitesides, Elijah Whitesides, and Addisyn Whitesides and son-in-law, Ervin Greene.

The family will receive friends Wednesday July 3, 2024, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, with Reverend Dr. Keith Stephenson officiating. Interment will follow at Brittain Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, or American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
