Marjorie Davis Jackson, age 82 of Lake Lure, passed away peacefully to her heavenly home Friday, January 25, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Robert Davis and the late Winnie Davis. Following her childhood in Warsaw, NC, she graduated from East Carolina University and married Ray Jackson. They raised a family in Greenville, SC. She selflessly invested in others through various roles including social worker, Haynesworth kindergarten teacher, Furman University librarian, and Bethel Baptist librarian. She began a library program at Perry Correctional. She was preceded in death by one sister Evelyn Raper. Marjorie is survived by her loving husband, Ray, and their children Julie (Tim) Taylor, Clay and Jackson of Richmond, VA, Joey (Patty) Jackson, Justin and Wade of Fair Play, SC, and Derrick (Cathy) Jackson, Jeremiah and Sophie of Columbia, SC, as well as their spouses. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren. The family is truly grateful for each loving caregiver. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Bills Creek Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm at Bills Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Darold Crawford and Reverend Terell Dillingham officiating. Interment will be in the Bills Creek Baptist Cemetery.
