Mary Glenn Burgess Loveday, age 94, of Rutherfordton passed away Friday, December 18, 2020, after a brief illness.  Mary Glenn was born May 4, 1926 in Rutherford County to the late Jim and Addie Nanney Burgess.  She was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Rutherfordton.  She is also preceded in death by her husband Johnny Loveday and a son Michael Loveday; brothers Worth and Wayne Burgess and a sister Nanney Fae Burgess.  Mary Glenn had a love of genealogy and spent many hours researching her family history.  She especially loved researching and visiting graves of those who went before her.  She also clipped local history of her beloved Rutherford County.  Many of notebook has been filled with past history.  Mary graduated from R S Central and was a proud member of the class of 44.

She is survived by

One son; Ivan Loveday.

One Daughter: Teresa Loveday Buchanan and her husband Allen.

One Step- Son; Mike Sanders. One daughter in law; Diane Loveday.

Five Grandchildren;  Tracy Wagner (Mark), John Loveday (Vickie), Shannon Loveday (Jennie), David Buchanan, April Mayse (Wes). Six Great-Grandchildren; Britany (Justin), Mickey, Justyce, Wesley, Cooper and Elliotte.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 20, 2020.  The Funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 20, 2020 with Reverend Dan Jackson officiating.
