Mary "Carolyn" Hensley Allen, age 74, of Rutherfordton, NC went to meet her Heavenly Father Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Wendover Hospice in Shelby, NC.

A native of Rutherford County, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Clyde Hensley and Garner Griswold Hensley. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Randy D. Allen. She was a retired nurse working as an LPN and caregiver for many years. Carolyn was an avid seamstress, and she had a green thumb. She could root anything, and she loved her flowers. She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she had many roles, but her favorite roles were Mission work, singing in the choir, and recruiting more choir members. Carolyn was also a Community Bible Study, (CBS) leader. Carolyn will be missed by many.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Kim Henson (Donnie), Rachelle Greene (Tim), and Christine Duncan (Shane), one sister, Lucy Bradley (Chivous), nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, February 22, 2023, with Reverend James Henson, and Reverend Scott Moneyham officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, 563 Pleasant Hill Church Rd, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
