Mary Ethel Shaw Grimes, age 84, of Forest City, died Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Manning Shaw and Ethel Bailey Shaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lee Donald Grimes, Sr. and her brother Manning Shaw Jr. Mary was a native of Charleston, SC.

Survivors include her two daughters, Nancy Bedford and her husband Greg, Mary Angela Lanning, two sons, Lee Donald Grimes Jr. and his wife Kim, Manning Shaw Grimes, two brothers, Manning Bennett Shaw Jr., and Charles Eugene Shaw and his wife Kathy, and two sisters, Agnes Irene Shaw Boles, and Constance Shaw Russell.

At Mary's request there will be no local services at this time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
