Mary Mitchum York, age 91, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Tuesday, February 18, 2020, in the care of her loving family, hospice and the amazing staff at Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home.

Mary was a life long member of Southern Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Eva Smith Mitchum and a native of Rutherford County.  She was widow of the late William Carvis York.  She was a graduate of R S Central High School class of 1945 and retired from Tanner Companies.

She is survived by

One Daughter: Kay York McDaniel of Rutherfordton.

One Granddaughter: Nicole Koone Holmes of Wilmington N C and two Great-Grandchildren:  William and Annabeth Holmes.

Sisters-in-laws:  Sybil Billingsley of Forest City and Opal Harrill of Mooresville N C. The Graveside service will be at Southern Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 22, 2020 with Reverend Peter Surran officiating.
