George "Matthew" Ferguson, age 65, of Forest City, NC, passed away, with his wife and other family by his side Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

A native of Rutherford County Matthew was the son of the late George Willie Ferguson and Carrie Ferguson. Matthew enjoyed wood crafting hobbies, H.O. scale trains, listening to music, and especially, spending time with his nieces and nephews, which he adored.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his loving and caring wife of 45 years, Toni M. Ferguson, his mother Carrie Ferguson, his sister, Bonnie Blanton (Rodney), his brother, Davy Ferguson, best buddy, Cruz Carson, sisters-in-law, Nancy McMahan and Marsha Callahan, and several nieces and nephews that he chose to treat as his own children and helped mentor and guide them as much as time allowed:  Michael, Mark, Todd, Tara, Beth, Sarah, Henry, Kalib, Kacci, Matthew, and Miranda.

The celebration of life service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 30, 2024, with Mark McMahan officiating.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
