Michael Dean "Mike"  Whiteside, age 60, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at  his home with his family and his dog by his side.

He was the son of the late Max Whiteside and and a native of Rutherford County.  He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  Mike worked with his brothers in the family business; Whiteside Logging.  He loved fishing and his dogs especially "Lucy" who stayed by his side.  Mike was preceded in death by two grandchildren; AddieRaye and Gentry Fish.

He is  survived by his wife: Becky Elliott Whiteside. One Daughter: Tiffany Fish and her husband Chad. His mother:  Sybil Whiteside, One Sister: Susie Whiteside Wall and her husband James.

Five Brothers: Steve Whiteside and his wife Tami, Randy Whiteside and his wife Debbie, Joey Whiteside Tim Whiteside and his wife Rita, Scott Whiteside and his wife Heather.

One Grandchild: Eli Fish and a number of special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, June 14, 2019 at McMahan's Funeral Home.  The Funeral service will be at Pleasant  Grove Baptist  Church at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 15, 2019 with Reverend Randy Darley and Reverend William Swink officiating.
