Michael "Mike"  Scoggin, age 75, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC.

He was the son of the late Earl Scoggin and Martha Freeman Scoggin and a native of Rutherford County.   He was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #91 Rutherfordton.  Mike retired from Duke Power and the Rutherford County School System.  He loved deer hunting, fishing and playing music.  Mike was a people person and loved to talk to anyone.

He is  survived by his loving wife: Paula B.  Scoggin. One Daughter: Heather McEntire

One Son: Rusty Scoggin (Samantha)

Twin  Sister: Anna Lancaster (Paul)

Six Grandchildren:  Madison Lee, Tabitha Sprouse, Austin Scoggin, Gavin Scoggin, Alyanna Grissom and Jordan Scoggin. One Great-Grandchild:  Rosalee.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, Tuesday, August 1, 2023  in the church sanctuary.  The Graveside  service will be at Mt.Vernon Baptist Cemetery at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 1, 2023 with Reagan Clark officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mosaic Hope; P O Box 1211; Rutherfordton, NC 28139.  McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
