Mike Stofer, age 69, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at his home in Gilkey. He was the son of the late James Earl Stofer and the late Mattie Lou Haynes Stofer and a native of Rutherford County. Mike was a loving father and grandfather; he loved spending time with his family. He loved riding motocycles, camping and doing anything outdoors. He was a U S Army veteran of Vietnam War. He is survived by: Two Daughters: Tracey Stofer and her companion Chris Butler. Crystal Lou Stofer and her life long companion Jerry Wayne Culbertson. One Son: John Allen Stofer and his fiancee Dawn Deck. One Brother: Johnny Stofer and his wife Pat. 11 Grandchildren: Kyle Hughes, Avery Culbertson, Taylor Stofer, Bevin Deck, Karmyn Deck, Sidney Freeman, Brandon Lancaster, Ciara Butler, Cyrena Butler, Gabe Butler, Bliss Butler. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 28, 2018 at McMahan's. The Funeral service will be at Piney Knob Baptist Church at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 29, 2018 with Reverend Michael Brown officiating.
