Mildred B. Conner, age 87, of the Bill's Creek community of Lake Lure, died Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Oak Grove Health Care Center in Rutherfordton. She was the daughter of the late Sewell Brown and the late Eunice Davis Brown. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Caldwell Conner and a grandson Brian Ponder. Mildred was a member of Montford Cove Baptist Church. Survivors include One Daughter: Debbie Holloway and her husband Ken of Union Mills Six Sons: Joe Conner and his wife Beverly of Union Mills Gene Conner and his wife Barbara of Lake Lure Phillip Conner and his wife Susie of Lake Lure Harold Conner and his wife Joyce of Marion Keith Conner and his wife Dorothy of Lake Lure Ricky Conner and his wife Linda of Lake Lure One Brother: William Brown of Marion Five Sisters: Lillian Harris and her husband Joe of Old Fort Loretta Summey of Old Fort Opal Ray and her husband Tommy of Old Fort Colleen Grant of Marion Velma Grant of Marion Fifteen Grandchildren Thirty Great-grandchildren Three Great-great grandchildren The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, October 6, 2017 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Montford Cove Baptist Church with Reverend Shawn Berryhill and Reverend Alan Hall officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Montford Cove Baptist Church Cemetery.
