Myrtle Koone Padgett, age 96, of Falls Church, VA, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Fredericksburg Health & Rehabilitation in Fredericksburg, VA.

She was the daughter of the late Joe Koone and Ola Rollins Koone and a native of Rutherford County. Myrtle was the widow of the late William D.

Padgett. Four of her siblings preceded her in death, one sister, Bonnie Koone, of Forest City, NC, and three brothers, Joseph Woodrow Koone of Hendersonville, NC, Paul Koone of Forest City, NC, and Bill Koone of Forest City, NC.

Myrtle was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church for many years, until she moved to Virginia, where she attended a Baptist church there.

She is survived by one daughter, Sara P. Johnson, and her husband Chuck of Fredericksburg, VA, two sisters, Daisy Koone Daughtrey of Forest City, NC and Ruby Koone Cole of Hendersonville, NC, and one brother, Clyde Koone, of Shelby, NC.

There will be a private, family only, service held in honor of Myrtle.
