Nancy E. "Meemaw" Maher of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at AdventHealth Lake Wales.

She was born July 17, 1948 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late William and Judith Rathgaber; she first came to Lake Wales 49 years ago. She was a homemaker and liked watching the services of Winter Haven Worship Center online. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and taking care of her family. She was a people pleaser, anyone that knew her loved her. She was a mom and meemaw to all who knew her!

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Maher; son, John Burgo; daughter, Catherine Maher; sister, Doris Rathgaber and a granddaughter, Brooke Burgo. Survivors include her daughters, Dianna Maher of Lake Wales, Christina Mayse (Billy) of Rutherfordton, NC and Lisa Palmerton (Kim) of Branford, FL; son, Michael Maher (Kristi) of Chesnee, SC; adopted children/grandchildren, Alexis Maher and Damian Maher; brothers, Bob Rathgaber and Bill Rathgaber both of Indiana; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and devoted friend, Debbie Fraizer.

The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales, Florida.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Cool Springs Cemetery in Forest City, North Carolina. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements in NC.
