Nell Blanton, age 77, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Grady and Willie Belle Walker and she was a native of Polk County. Nell was a member at Gray's Creek Baptist Church for many years. She worked in textiles for 35 years. Nell was the widow of the late Hoyle S. Blanton. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sisters; Shirley Houser, Jane Skipper, and Joyce McCraw, brothers; Alvin Walker, Horace Walker, and Garland Walker.

Nell is survived by

Two Daughters: Joyce Blanton of Rutherfordton Dawn Hardin and her husband Robert of Shiloh

One Son: Dwayne Blanton and his wife Lisa of Shiloh

One Brother: Kenneth Walker of Green Creek

Six Grandchildren Thirteen Great-Grandchildren

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at McMahan's Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be at Gray's Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 16, 2020. Interment will be at Gray's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. Memorial may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills; P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
