Norris V. Dobbins, age 92, of Rutherfordton, died Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation & Living Center.

He was a native of Rutherford County. Norris was the widower of the late Marjorie Conner Dobbins. Norris was a U.S. Navy 2nd officer and he served for 37 years. He traveled all over the world for the Navy. Some of the things he loved were fishing trips to Canada, gardening, making chow chow, and he was known as the pickle man.

Norris was a member of the Masonic Lodge #91 for over 60 years.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Dobbins, and five sisters, Katie Arrowood, Alice Cianciolo, Ruby Debrule, Reba Affenit and Ann Whitfield.

Survivors include:

Two Daughters: Debbie Watts (Ronnie) Denise Crook (Chris)

Two Sons: Keith Dobbins (Kathy) Gregory Dobbins

Thirteen Grandchildren, twenty-six Great-Grandchildren, and three Great-Great-Grandchildren

A graveside service will be held at Rutherfordton City Cemetery at 12:00 PM, Monday, August 17, 2020, with military honors by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
