Pamela Ernestine Johnson Hurd, age 76, of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord and was reunited with her loved ones on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 3:33 a.m. at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.

Pamela was a native of Texas and later made her home in Florida, where she raised her family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Harvey Samuel Johnson and the late Essie Hudson Johnson.

Pamela lived a life rooted in service and devotion. She gave freely of her time to the Lord, the Church, and to caring for those in need. A beautiful soul who never met a stranger, Pamela embodied kindness, love, and compassion in every interaction. Her presence made the world a gentler place, and she will be deeply missed by the many lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, Pamela was preceded in death by her son, Jason Tommy Wells; her daughter, Toshia Ann Millender; and her brothers, Samuel Johnson and Joe Johnson.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Mae Johnson Brugueras, and daughter-in-law, Gayle Eberhardt-Mitchell; her grandchildren, Katalynda Lissette Brugueras, Isaiah Riel Brugueras, Justin Tyler Braswell, and D. Nichole Millender; and her great-grandchild, Nehemiah De'Shun Riel Millender.

In accordance with Pamela's wishes, no formal service will be held. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is entrusted with arrangements.
