Pat Bivens, age 79, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late Fred and Maude Whiteside and was a native of Rutherford County. Pat was the widow of the late Wayne Bivens. She was a lifetime member of Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness Church where she was a secretary for many years. Pat was a very faithful member of her church, and she loved and adored her church family. In addition to her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Upton.

She is survived by, two daughters, Susan Thomas and her husband Marty of Rutherfordton, and Vickie Townzen and her husband Larry of TN, one son, Scott Bivens of Forest City, two sisters, Terrie Davenport (Jonnie) of SC, and Sandra Bruke of SC, one brother, Steve Putnam of CA. Four grandchildren, Dustin Maxwell, Eric Thomas, Jordan Boone, and Charity Campbell, and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 2:15 PM, Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness Church. The funeral service will be at Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness Church at 2:30 PM, Sunday, March 28, 2021 with Reverend Monty Monteith officiating.
