Pauline "Polly" McCombs Hutchins, age 86, of Rutherfordton, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City after a short illness. She was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late Herbert McCombs and the late Maggie Honeycutt McCombs. She was a member of Wilson Baptist Church and was a generous, loving Christian woman who was a friend to many. She worked for fifteen years at Stonecutter Mills, fifteen years at Burlington Mills and twenty five years at the Spindale Washerette. She was always ready to help people out, was loved by many and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Hutchins, two sisters; Edith Morrison and Edna Yelton, one grandson Steven Hutchins and a great granddaughter Arwen Kayla Little of Kentucky. She is survived by : Two Sons: Larry Hutchins and his wife Sylvia of Rutherforton Billy Hutchins and his husband Skip Austin of Sanford, NC One Sister: Lillian Oliff of Maryland One Brother: Robert McCombs and his wife Margaret of Rutherfordton One Granddaughter: Shelly Hutchins Little of Kentucky and Malikka Shaw Hutchins of Rutherfordton who is the widow of the grandson Steven Hutchins. She is also survived by various brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, December 17, 2018 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 with Reverend Billy Bostic and Reverend John Edwards officiating.
