Mrs. Pauline L. McKinney, age 93, of Spindale, died Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation & Living Center in Rutherfordton. Born May 21, 1922 near Cherokee, NC she was the daughter of the late J. F. Laughter and the late Fannie Dalton Laughter. She spent her early years in Rutherford County before marrying John C. Mckinney who went on to serve in the U.S. Army as a CWO-4 with the Army's horses at Fort Myer, VA and whose name is on the horse stables at Arlington National Cemetery. Pauline was of the Baptist faith and a devoted military wife and mother. She was also an avid bowler and won the Senior Olympics at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Geraldine Laughter McKinney and her husband CWO-4 John C. McKinney. She is survived by : Three Daughters: Peggy Dyer Judy A. Ockert Luwanda J. Parchen Two Sons: John C. McKinney, Jr. Raymond M. McKinney One Brother: J. Howard Laughter Numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren in whom she took great pride. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 with Rev. Dean Baughn officiating. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
