Penny Christine Goins Hawthorne, age 54 , of Rutherfordton, died Monday, February 18, 2019, at her home. She was a native of Rutherford County. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Hicks Goins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Amanda Beth Goins. Penny was a member of Oak Springs Baptist Church. She loved children, making people laugh and loved to crochet. She also loved to take care of her father. Survivors include: Her Husband: Kenneth Lee Hawthorne Her Father: Robert Goins One Sister: Susan Goins Vickers Four Nieces: Amanda Hill, Kimberly Hall, Mamie Fitzgerald and Brooke Vickers Four great-nieces Three great-nephews The graveside service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Don Hollifield officiating. The family will receive friends after the graveside service.
