R. Bruce Hoyle, age 82, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills. He was the son of the late R. Lane Hoyle and the late Corine McCurry Hoyle and he was a native of Rutherford County. Bruce was a life long member of Adaville Baptist Church. He owned and operated Hoyle of NC Insurance agency. Bruce raised cattle, sheep and chickens, and he loved fishing and bird hunting. He was a huge North Carolina Tar Heels fan and a past member of the Rams club. He is survived by his loving  wife of 62 years: Joann Phillips Hoyle. One Daughter: Teresa Hoyle Self Two Sons: Dr. R. Mark Hoyle and his wife Melissa Scott D. Hoyle and his wife Melissa Eight Grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A private, family only, funeral service will be held in honor of Bruce.
