Ray Crowder, age 81, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Mission Hospital McDowell in Marion, NC.

He was the son of the late Bristol and Nell Crowder. In addition to his parents Ray was preceded in death by his wife Louise Austin Crowder and a son Justin Crowder. He was also preceded in death by four sisters.

Ray was a native of Asheville, NC. He loved to do woodworking, camping and enjoyed visits with family and friends.

Ray Crowder accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on July 29, 2021. He felt blessed that he was going to be with his wife Louise and son Justin.

Survivors include, three daughters, Teresa Cole, Pamela Cooper (Billy), and Tina Crowder, one brother, Ken Crowder (Betty), two sisters, Doris Ramsey, and Wanda Morgan (Fred), five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The memorial service will be 6:00 PM Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Willard Pruitt officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Autism Society of North Carolina Attn: Donations Coordinator 505 Oberlin Rd Suite 230 Raleigh, NC 27605
