Charles Ray Goforth, age 84, of Bostic went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Guy and Geneva Spake Goforth and a native of Rutherford County. Ray was a veteran of U S Army and a business owner. He was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed working his small hobby farm, especially his chickens. He was first married to the late Winnie Pope Goforth for 55 years. Ray was preceded in death by an infant daughter Dorothy Goforth. He is survived by his wife of 7 years; Marilyn K. Goforth Two Daughters: Pat Hollifield and her husband Roy Jackie Champion and her husband Steve One Son: Rod Goforth and his wife Bonnie Step-daughter: Renee Park and her husband Joe Five Brothers: John P Goforth and his wife Lois Hicks Goforth and his wife Betty Donald Goforth Vaughn Goforth and his wife Cynthia Wayne Goforth Five GrandChildren: Ronald Walker, Bobby Walker, Selena Goforth, Todd Champion, BJ Champion Three Step-Grandchildren: Austin Park, Tony Park, Paige Park Seven Great-Grandchildren One Great Great Grandchild He is also survived by his precious fur baby dog; Candy Renee Goforth who he loved for 12 years. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Sandy Level Baptist Church. The Funeral service will be at Sandy Level Baptist Church at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 20, 2017 with Reverend Robert Hensley officiating. Interment will be at Sandy Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Bostic, NC. Friends and family are welcome at the home anytime.
