Rebecca Hodge McDaniel, age 92, of Hendersonville NC, went to be with the Lord and her late husband, Wray McDaniel, on October 14, 2023.

She was the daughter of the late Roy Hodge and Lavada Hodge.

Wray and Rebecca were married for 69 years before Wray passed away in late 2019.

Rebecca was a native of Rutherford County. She graduated from Greenville General with her degree in nursing. Rebecca was an RN for 40+ years and finished her nursing career as Assistant Director of Nursing at Beverly Healthcare in Hendersonville NC. Rebecca was a member of Valley Hill Baptist Church, Hendersonville NC. Rebecca loved being outside, tending to her many flower gardens, playing the piano, enjoyed traveling the world with her late husband and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents and husband, Rebecca was preceded in death by several siblings.

She is survived by, two daughters, Terry Shuford (George), and Cheryl McDaniel (Robert Hough), three siblings, Wilbur Hodge, Wayne Hodge, and Diane Hodge, four grandchildren, Tommy Shuford (Julie), Heather Moore (Terri), Daniel Shuford (Ashleigh) and Kelsey Morgan (Matt), and four great grandchildren, Savannah Shuford, Phoenix Shuford, Avery Shuford, and Sadie Morgan.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 21, 2023, at West Point Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at the church at 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 21, 2023, with Reverend David Woodie officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Valley Hill Baptist Church; 118 School St. Hendersonville, NC 28739. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
