Retired Colonel Dennis J. Gervais, age 62, of Mill Spring, NC, died Saturday, February 10, 2024, at his home.

He was the son of the late Linda Knight Gervais and Amedee Gervais.  Colonel Gervais was a world traveler but considered  Nevada to be his home.

Dennis served in the United States Air Force retiring with the rank of Colonel. Dennis was a distinguished member of the Office of Special Investigations. After earning numerous medals, including the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star, he retired after twenty seven years with the United States Air Force. Outside of his career, Dennis was a private man who loved motorcycles, fast cars, and the Texas Longhorn football team no matter the season. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Robin K. Gervais, father, Amedee Gervais, and two daughters, Ashley Gervais Hurlburt and her husband Ethan, and Julie Gervais.  Three brothers; John Gervais, Chris Gervais and David Gervais

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, February 16, 2024 at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel. Interment will be at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, NC. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
