Reuben Dean McEntire, age 71, of Rutherfordton, NC, went to be with the Lord and got to use his angel wings for the first time, Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

A native of Rutherford County, Reuben was the son of the late Lee McEntire and Rosa Lee Hardin McEntire. He was a member of Little White Country Church. Reuben ran a body shop for many years and was also an insurance representative since the age of 18. Reuben loved his kids, grandkids, and the rest of his family very much, they will all miss him greatly. In addition to his parents, Reuben was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Pritchard McEntire, two sisters, and two brothers.

Reuben is survived by one daughter, Brigit Harris, one son, Philip Scott McEntire Sr., one brother, Leonard McEntire (Patsy), four grandchildren, Philip Scott McEntire Jr., Robert Tyler Harris, Angela L. Harris, and Krista A. Harris, and one very special niece, who was like a sister, Diane A. Breedlove, and many other family members.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Little White Country Church. The funeral service will be at the Little White Country Church at 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 14, 2023. Interment will follow in the cemetery. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
