Rick Howell, age 70, of Rutherfordton, N.C., passed away at Colonial Manor August 12, 2026. 

He was born in Winston-Salem, N.C. on July 1, 1956. He was the son of the late Thomas Howell and Inez Coble Howell. He was preceded in death by five brothers, and one sister.

He traveled extensively in North Carolina, Florida, New York City, and Connecticut. He loved 70's muscle cars, old black and white TV shows and dogs.

Rick is surived by his sister Victoria Howell and brother-in-law Ken Higgins of Danbury CT.

There will be no services at this time. 

McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of cremation arrangements.
