Sally R. Dunn, age 73, of Mill Spring, NC, formerly of Wellington, FL, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.
A native of Grahamsville, NY, Sally was the daughter of the late Willis and Phyllis Ryan. In addition to her parents, Sally was predeceased by her beloved friend, Jerry Dunn, and two brothers, Michael Charles Ryan, and Will Ryan.
Sally has shown her artistic side by crafting, knitting and drawing her horse heads. She also loved to bake, birdwatch, knit and do puzzles.
Sally will be remembered as being strong and independent, witty and sarcastic, tough and stubborn. Sally has been known to have a sense of humor that was like no other. Sally left her mark on this world by taking people under her wing and guiding them through anything they encountered or needed help with. She was respected by her peers and has been dubbed "Horseshow Google." Sally was a kind, patient, hardworking, successful woman, who fought until the end. She is loved by many.
Sally is survived by one daughter, Amy C. Jones (Ed) of Claryville, NY, close and dear friend, Linda, two sisters, Patricia "Patty" Gates, and Mary Davis both of New York, one brother, Jim Ryan (Tammy) of Washington State, two grandchildren, Morgan, and Mason Wynkoop, two great grandchildren, Amelia, and Maverick Mergendahl, and many nieces, and nephews.
In accordance with Sally's wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Catskill Animal Rescue; 263 Old Monticello Rd. Ferndale, NY 12734, or a charity of your choice. McMahan's Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
