Shane Tate, age 58, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

A native of Rutherford County, Shane was the son of the late Dean Tate and Barbara Tate. Shane loved the outdoors; he was a mountain man at heart. He enjoyed fishing and camping. Shane was a vivid storyteller; he had a great imagination. Some of Shane's favorite roles were being  "Dad" to his girls and "Top" to his grandchildren.

Shane is survived by his five daughters, Aslyne Tate, Elaina Jones and her husband Tim, Shelby Tate Frady and her husband Matt, Autumn Tate Freeman and her husband Aaron, and Eliza Tate, his wife, Samantha Tate, his mother, Barbara Tate, his sister Melanie Fite and her husband Andy, his brother, Bobby Dean Tate and his wife JoAnn,  and three grandchildren, Zebulon Frady, Laynie Jones, and Rowan Freeman.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, October 27, 2025, at McMahan's Funeral Home. The memorial service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 27, 2025, with Reverend Bryan Ezell and Chris Beddingfield officiating.
